ANNUAL LINCOLN-REAGAN DINNER BREAKS RECORD FOR FUND RAISING AND ATTENDANCE

The annual Lincoln-Reagan Dinner for Prince William Republicans, headlined by Winsome Sears and Heritage President Kevin Roberts, grossed $70,000

The May 3rd Lincoln-Reagan Dinner of the Prince William County Republican Committee (PWCRC) set records in both attendance and profitably. The dinner grossed $70,000 with an estimated net of over $40,000. It was also notable for the strong support from Prince William County’s business community, and the diversity of the sold-out crowd. PWCRC Chairman Jacob Alderman was pleased by the strong support from the local business community for the event. “The Republican party is the natural home for the business community. We want smart growth and a balanced approach to development, but we will never make employers the enemy.”

Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Sears, and President of the Heritage Foundation Kevin Roberts were the headline speakers. Also speaking at the event was County Supervisor Yesli Vega.

In her remarks Lieutenant Governor Sears declared her intention to follow a pro-business policy as governor in order to increase employment for all Virginians. She added that this would require an ‘all of the above’ energy policy to support her pro-growth agenda. Supporting education and public safety were also highlighted as part of her agenda.

Kevin Roberts’ speech drew clear distinctions between Lieutenant Governor Sears and her opponent in the Virginia governor’s race, Abigail Spanberger. He belied Spanberger’s claim to be a moderate, stating that her voting record was more in line with Democrat radicals like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In support of the conservative agenda in both the county and country he observed ‘if not now when? If not us, who?’

Supervisor Vega celebrated the diversity of the turnout, with her, a Latina, greeting Winsome Sears, the first black woman to be Lieutenant Governor of Virginia and in line to be the first black female governor in the history of the United States. Chairman Alderman added, “The diversity of the attendees demonstrates the growth of the modern Republican party in this county and the country.”
