Early Voting begins September 18, 2026. Help us ensure fair and transparent elections in Prince William County.

There are two ways to serve: become an Officer of Elections, or serve as a Republican Poll Watcher.

Virginia law calls for equal representation from each major party among Officers of Election at every polling place, so we need committed Republicans in these roles. If you can’t commit to a full day, a Poll Watcher shift is the best way to help. Officers of Election may also volunteer as Republican Poll Watchers when they are not scheduled to serve as Officers of Election.

How To Apply:

Step one: Tell us you’re interested

Everyone starts here by completing this form, regardless of the role you choose. This is how we contact you about assignments and, for Officers of Election, how we are notified to recommend you to the Electoral Board as a Republican Officer of Election.

If you want to be an Officer of Election:

If you want to be a poll watcher:

(1) Complete poll watcher training. Virginia Fair Elections (VFE) offers live online Election Observer/Poll Watcher (EO/PW) Training, Parts A and B, which takes approximately two hours total. Registration for live online sessions is now open.

EO/PW Training is held Mondays at 6:30 p.m., with Parts A and B alternating weekly. VFE also offers weekly Specialty Training sessions on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.; topics vary weekly.

(2) Sign up for a shift and verify training completion.

Please sign up for a Poll Watcher shift using one of the Sign-Up Schedule links below.

After you have signed up for a Poll Watcher shift and completed the required Poll Watcher Training Parts A and B, please email electionintegrity@pwcgop.com to verify that you have completed the training. We will then send you an Authorized Representative Designation Letter, which you must bring to your assigned polling location and present to the Chief Election Officer (Chief EO).
