PWCRC Resolution Opposing County Vote on PW Data Center Noise Before elections

Prince William & Manassas Park Republicans,

The Prince William County Republican Committee passed the following resolution at its regular monthly meeting held on October 27, 2025:

Whereas, it is the intention of the Board of County Supervisors to vote on a watered-down data center noise ordinance just one week before the seriously impacted Gainesville District has the opportunity to elect a representative to the Board; and

Whereas, four Democratic members of that Board voted on October 7 to disband a citizen advisory committee that had worked for two years with expert consultants to address the unique challenges of noise from data centers; and

Whereas, both the Republican and Democratic candidates for Gainesville Supervisor have voiced concern about the inadequate regulation of data center noise;

Therefore, the Prince William County Republican Committee commends the Supervisors who opposed the politicization of the decision-making process and urges the Democratic Supervisors to show respect for their candidate in the Gainesville race by delaying a vote on the noise ordinance until a new Gainesville Supervisor takes office so that all citizens of Prince William County are represented in this matter.

Thank you,

Jacob Alderman
