It is with deep regret that the Prince William County Republican Committee confirms the sad news that Prince William County Supervisor for Gainesville, Bob Weir, has passed away. His death leaves a hole in all of our hearts. We share our grief with his wife Diana, his children, other members of his family, and his uncountable friends in Prince William.
Bob Weir, a lifelong Virginian, was a devoted and tireless public official. Despite the demands of work and raising a family, he served the community from the time he moved here. His public service included being a member of the Haymarket Town Council, Planning Commission Chairman for the Town of Haymarket, Prince William County Sustainability Commission member, and since 2023 the County Supervisor for the Gainesville district. To all these positions Bob brought his integrity, deep knowledge and conviction. He was combative in fighting for the future of Prince William but never vindictive, and would work with anyone to achieve his goals of preserving and protecting this county.
We were always delighted when he attended our meetings. He was both humorous and forthright. He always told us as it is.
To all our members – our Committee will honor Bob Weir by continuing to fight for the goals we shared with him. He will continue to inspire us, and will be with us for eternity.
