The 45 days of Virginia’s early voting begins today. In Prince William County you can only vote early in person at the county Election Office at 9250 Lee Ave in Manassas and the Woodbridge DMV, 2731 Caton Hill Rd; starting Sunday October 18 four additional early voting sites will open: Brentsville Court House – 12229 Bristow Rd, AJ Ferlazzo Building – 15941 Donald Curtis Dr. Woodbridge, Dumfries Community Center – 17757 Main St. Dumfries, and Haymarket Gainesville Library – Lightner Rd, Haymarket. Prince William County voters are being asked to vote for the U.S. Senates and the House of Representatives 7th and 10th districts. The Republican candidates are Bert Mizusawa for Senate, Dave Beckwith in 10th House District, and Doug Olivant in the 7th House District (check election maps to see what House district you are in Prince William).
In addition, voters will be asked to vote on three Amendments to the Constitution of Virginia. Ballot question 1 proposes to enshrine the right to abort a baby up until birth (which is undefined in the question. Shall we call this the Lindsay Clancy amendment?). Ballot question 2 is on the surface to duplicate the right of any two people to marry, as already decided by the U.S. Supreme Court, but adds the word ‘gender’ alongside sex, opening the ability to use this amendment to promote transgender rights for even minor children, over even parent rights. Ballot question 3 will restore voting rights to felons after their release from custody.

The deadline to register to vote or update an existing registration is Oct. 23. Voters who register after that deadline may use same-day registration and cast a provisional ballot through Election Day. Oct. 23 is also the deadline for local election offices to receive requests for mailed absentee ballots. Early in-person voting ends at 5 p.m. Oct. 31.
